About the author
Peter Hamersma (1957) worked for over forty years in the (international) insurance world in finance departments. In 2019 he resigned and continued as a self-employed person.
Peter: “After I quit my job, I got a bit more free time and could pay more attention to my hobbies. In addition, my wife and I started traveling (even) more and have since seen a lot of Europe.
The new free time also gave room to another new hobby that had been latent for a long time, but never really picked up due to work in salaried jobs: writing.
So in 2020/2021 I wrote my debut novel, Enclave, and self-published it in 2022. This was a lot of fun and learning.
In 2023/2024, I wrote the exciting novel Breakthrough and that is again self-published. I enjoyed writing it as well and think the result is very beautiful.
The second book, which can be seen as a sequel to the first, I decided to write when some of my friends occasionally asked me when part 2 was coming. Apparently, the first book had stirred up some excitement and expectations.
I ended up “just” starting again; it’s also kind of fun to do. Creating something from scratch. By now at least, the country Slautis has become familiar to a good number of people’.
The books Enclave and Breakthrough are for sale via this website (but of course also in bookstores, via Boekengilde.nl and Bol.com).
